About Us
Beautiful spaces.
Clear-eyed advice.
Josh McCullock is an independent publication about event venues and the decisions that make a gathering work. We look at spaces through two lenses: how they feel and how they function.
Our point of view
Inspiration is useful.
Context is essential.
A sunlit hall might look perfect in a photograph. But will everyone hear the speeches? Is there a comfortable place for guests to take a break? Can the room accommodate dinner and a dance floor without a disruptive reset?
These are the kinds of questions we believe deserve more attention. Our purpose is to connect the appeal of a venue with the realities of hosting, so you can make a decision that suits your event rather than simply following a trend.
Whether you are planning a private celebration, a workshop, or a company gathering, the aim is the same: a welcoming space, a workable plan, and fewer surprises.
What guides our writing
People before pictures
Guest comfort, accessibility, and a sense of welcome belong in the conversation from the start—not as finishing touches.
Specifics before superlatives
“Perfect” is not a useful specification. Layout, capacity, inclusions, and restrictions tell you much more about whether a venue will fit.
Clarity before pressure
A venue decision deserves time and good information. We encourage written answers, like-for-like comparisons, and a careful reading of terms.
A resource, not a booking desk.
We publish venue guidance; we do not manage venues or take event reservations. For availability, current pricing, accessibility details, and contract terms, speak directly with the venue. For a question about our content or a topic suggestion, we would love to hear from you.
